Thanks, Kurt!
I think you are right, I've got competing subjects. That tends to be a problem for me. Great feedback! |

Betty, that is a brilliant idea!
Maybe something like this. Or I might make the gate a bit smaller but brighter so it is easier to see, and maybe have the light turn into a ray, streaming down to almost touch the rock.
Thanks for the great idea! |

Thanks, Aavo!
I think you are right, that the apparition competes with the skeleton, and would be better if smaller and to the right. |

You have a very sharp eye, and I believe I do see what you are saying about what you perceive to be the paper. However, it is actually an artifact of the Topaz Glow filter I added. I went back and forth as to whether I felt it added to the image or confused it, because it did take away the crispness of the outline of the bones. As you see, I kept it, but it is useful to know that it can look like a masking problem rather than an artistic effect. Thanks for your feedback! |

Thanks!
I agree about the size of the orb. It looked right when I first did it but now looks oversized to me -- one of those times when it would have helped to let it sit a few days and then come back to it. Thanks for the feedback! |

Such an interesting image! I love the various poses of the people. The ball shape is so perfect, and the stripes make it compelling. The lighting makes it look like a Christmas ornament, but the people feel so real that I get the feeling that the globe might instead be the feelings of the people constrained in their daily routine. Or perhaps being swept up in a day's events and just doing their best to remain upright.
Lovely to look at, and inspiring to my imagination. |

Such a beautiful image! I love the gossamer of the mist and the soft colors of the dawn. What a delight to then see the surfer riding the beam of light! This is truly inspired.
Normally I might suggest having the surfer closer to the middle of the image, but in this case I really like the surprise as my eye moves across the image. For me, his proximity to the edge adds a feeling of tension and movement, as if he's ready to ride right out of the frame. It works very well indeed.
Personally, I might consider having a bit more mist on that rock on the left.
I'd love to know where your image for the surfer came from. Do people really surf in rivers?

Wonderful colors. A very clean composition, so well assembled as always. Your reflections are exquisite. The dancers look quite natural and balanced, as if they are performing on the swans every day.
The symmetry is so perfect that it feels just a bit static to me, and while I like the bowed swans' heads, the form they create looks more like a 4 leaf clover than a heart to me.
You might consider a change or two to add a little tension to the image. |

I love this image! For me, the child is key here, turning the image from simply a very nice, colorful composition into a charming story. I love the body language of the little girl, with her hands behind her back to keep from rustling the leaves, and bending over to stay hidden. Is she watching for her father? Or spying on enemy soldiers? So many possibilities!
Blurring the girl is effective in keeping my eye on the soldiers and from wandering off the frame. An alternative approach another time might be to darken her hair a bit; I don't think it would take much.

This is such a cool image, Aavo! The composition is beautifully balanced and so clean. The reptile stands out wonderfully even as it blends into the desert sands.
I personally really like the repetition of the bird in his eye as well as in the sky. I think the way you have placed the bird shape in his eye looks very reptilian, and I don't feel any need for it to be a literal reflection.
I also like the way you echoed the shape of his eye in the shape of the moon.
I wonder if you might want to experiment with a less literal version of the moon.
