Really a fabulous image! The extreme closeup of the eye is compelling in itself. The leaves and the veins would be excellent in any color but are particularly wonderful in pink.
I like how you segued to the water rather than more of her face; it enhances the marvelous disorientation.
Very well done, Brad! |

Wonderful image, Alan! Great composition, filled with interesting details. Such an interesting array of characters. It reminds me of how I felt about books when I was a kid; you never knew what magic the next page would hold.
Such an excellent background! It adds to the unreality while being interesting yet not distracting. Really a great choice.
I love it just as is. |

Such fabulous colors, Betty! You have such a wonderful glow on the leaves and the iguana. I am just fascinated by the drops of water in the fountain; there is something so cool about the way they are pulses of water rather than a monotonous stream.
I was interested in Alan's comment about the fountain being too bright, so I took it into Photoshop and dampened it down. It didn't work as well to my eye, because the light on the iguana seems to come from the fountain, and it didn't look right to me with less light from the fountain.
But I have a different suggestion, which is that personally I might consider a bit of a crop.

For me, the colors are the trees. I get that same feeling of serenity and balance, plus the light shining through as if through branches. The texture reminds me of leaves.
I don't think we need to put labels on our images.
I really think this is a beautiful image, thoughtfully constructed and wonderfully balanced. I could happily see it everyday on the wall for a long time. |

I like how you inverted the forest scene to make it more ghostly. The trees give such a nice off-center framing and have that mysterious darkness down the path. Your cat stands out well against the background. It was a nice touch to keep the color of the cat's eyes.
I too did not see the faces before I read your description. I think the framing tree trunks are so strong, and there's not much detail in the leaves in the middle distance, so my eye did not catch the faces.
You might consider a bit less opacity on the inverted layer, or perhaps a low opacity original forest layer in one of the burn modes.

That's an interesting observation. I had been thinking it would have been better to shoot from a little higher and just have the water as background, but I quite agree with you. Given the pose, his hand crossing the horizon is actually really great. |

I sympathize! I have certainly been there.
I might consider trying a texture to distract. |

A fun shot! And a great title.
I love the pose. Great composition.
I like the light on his face as you processed it.
I personally like this as a high key shot in b&w. I'd be interested knowing what you think.

Wonderful image!
I love the light and composition. It almost feels like an old oil painting. Really beautiful!
I would change nothing except for cloning out the one door stud at the very top of the picture. |

Wonderful expression, lovely model. I like the way your light gives a lot of depth to the right of her face.
The camo jacket is great with her coloring, and its large size emphasizes the delicacy of her bone structure.
Her hands feel a bit awkward to me; it feels like the way someone puts their hands to their head when they have a headache, which is at odds with that serene smile. It would be interesting to see this kind of shot with her hands running up through her hair softly. |

Wonderful light, beautiful model. She has such lovely eyes and lips. I think you did exactly the right amount of post processing.
My initial reaction to the strand over her eye was the same as Manfred's, but upon consideration I think it is a much more interesting image as is. It gives me more of a feeling that she just suddenly looked over her shoulder, and goes well with her expression.
It might have been interesting if she had dropped her shoulder a bit. She does have lovely skin, but I'd have like to have seen a bit more of her neck. |

Very cool!
Wonderful pose of a great model. I love the whole setup - the black gloves and chair, the reflection of the curtains in the chair, the softness of the curtains and the light, those great icues of the frame of the screen.
Personally, I would have considered bringing the chair forward a tad so her head did not intersect the top of the backdrop screen. |

Yes, I had a lot of trouble with the feet, which is why it is so dark there at the bottom. It didn't feel very effective. I like your suggestion better.
I was trying to go for a poster/advertising look, to give a little boy the feeling of being like his heroes. |
