The ice created wonderful patterns and shapes. With patterns like this there are lots of opportunities for variation of the image. Yours is a fairly low-key shot. I went the other direction, by moving the right slider on the histogram toward the center to create a high-key shot. You get an A+ for effort for weathering the winter to get this image. |

I used a 105 mm lens at f16. The flowers were from my garden and there was about 2-3 inches of ice around them. |

Yes, Bev, you are right. Sometimes you can pre-freeze a thin layer of ice before putting the flowers in. My flowers decided to float around and move. One flower would definitely be better. |

To see the stroke on the image click on it so it shows on the black background. |

You have nice exposure on the snow and lovely color on the rose. I like the rose as Ally suggested, hanging down, including more of the stem and snow. Since our DD images are on a black background the rose looks quite tight in the frame. Adding a stroke around the image gives the rose more space and appeal. I sampled the rose color and used a 5 pixel stroke and then used Edit>Fade Stroke down to 60% of the color. |

I love your "snow head". Very creative and well exposed. I like the colored background in this image as it looks like the snowman lives in a forest. If the background was black it would overpower the head. |

The vertical format really accentuates the shape of the icicles. I agree with Connie's comments and prefer the B&W version of the image because it makes the icicles more prominent. |
