Wouldn't increase the contrast of the layers The mist and darkness really capture a mood that too much precision would weaken. I do agree with Doug that the background sky could be lightened to draw the viewer's eye into the scene. I might crop a bit of the foreground As is, this is a wonderful photograph, |

I think this is a lovely portrait, but it seems to me the opposite of film noire Her expression and the gentle balance of light and dark suggest warmth and her expression id a direct, pleasant, pretty young woman. Film noire suggest darkness, cynicism, and discomfort. Perhaps a background of shadow. Open the eyes to suggest fear or narrow them to suggest a danger to the viewe.
