The technique and the near far composition (between the hands) is a good start. I would (were it my picture) try different crops--for example just the hands and enough of the instrument so that it is identifiablbe |

I agree with Barbara on the technical points. I feel that a single person portrait requires some engagement with the subject or the subject with the artist or engagement by the subject with someone else or even something else. |

Bob, I think this is a very exciting photograph. The repetition of the curves in various sizes and perspectives creates a composition that holds a viewers interest. To use a musical analogy, this is a theme and variations combined with flawless tonal balance (there are tones from 1 to 10)This photograph deserves a promionent spot on a wall |
