24 Feb 21 Comment Hi Laura,
I really find this a very dramatic , but ambiguous photograph. It's one I would keep looking at. I think it mght be stronger if you cropped the top at the cross beam. I rather like your treatment of the floor; it doesn't distract by too much detail, form thesubject of your picture

24 Feb 21 Comment Very creative. The sky is good but the photograph might have had more drama if the blue of the sky were darker and more saturated. As long as you were creating the sky, why not take out the clouds, which do distract from the forms that the buildings create. The power of your photogdraph is color an dorm. Feb 23rd
24 Feb 21 Comment I pretty much agree by the others' comments. I think, however, you have a much better composition in your "original" version. I think if you would take your original lighten the background slightly and crop the partial tulips on the left and the tulip on the left, you would have a more interesting photograph. You have made a beautifully executed photo of three flowers, but there are millions of well executed photos of flowers. The vision you had with the mysterious flower-like objects is your artistic stamp on the scene. Feb 14th

24 Feb 21 Comment I did not suggest a substitute, but only a picture within a picture. I have forgotten how to send an edited picture. Feb 12th
24 Feb 21 Comment I think this is a fantastic nature photo. The almost courtly postures of the birds made me smile. The exposure is right on, There is detai in both the white and black feathers. I would give the bird on the left a tad more room. This a photo I wish I had made. Feb 11th
24 Feb 21 Comment I was there in 2019, and I missed this really interesting thermopile. I wonder if there is a picture within this picture. I would crop away everything except the left side of the thermopile. I didn't find the snow or the mist a problem. Detail in a background can be a distraction from the main focus of interest. 24 Feb 21 Comment Technically this is a masterful print. The tonal balance is excellent, ranging from deep black to bright with just enough detail and texture at each end of the tonal scale. I much preferred the color version. It captured the flower' beauty and the colors are rich, but not over saturated. The black and white is too clinical for my taste. I also preferred the composition of original 2 which captures the the gracefulness of the the flower. The interior of the flower is less interesting than the flower as a whole, in my opinion Feb 11th

47 Feb 21 Comment Think about two pictures instead of one? Feb 23rd
47 Feb 21 Reply Nice work on the sky. Perhaps you could try giving the boat a little more space at the stern? Feb 21st
47 Feb 21 Comment Very nicely composed. I do agree the boat is a bit cramped. Every sky need not be interesting. In fact, sometimes landscapes are visually confusing because the interesting foreground is competing with a dramatic sky. I do think the uneven toning is a distraction. Technically a monochrome should be one color. Her you have two. Also the sepia is a bit red or orange. I think a straight black and white with perhaps a light selenium tone would be better Feb 19th
47 Feb 21 Comment I think this is extremely well done. You captured a very serious expression. the tonal balance is just right with a full range of zones and tack sharp. The dark brown fur is really interesting. The lions in South Africa and East Africa are much more yellow Feb 19th
47 Feb 21 Comment This is very interesting I would crop the top right down to the arch of the bridge. Feb 19th
47 Feb 21 Comment Super portrait. The model's pose is just right to express rock hard muscles. The expression in the face seems to express a bid of uncertainty. It's the mouth. Not quite set-a bit grim, but not fierce or frightened--a bit questioning perhaps. Feb 19th
47 Feb 21 Comment I like this for its curves. It is also suggestive a a human body (darker areas ar leg-like. Really an unusually interesting photograph. I would just darken the deep shadows a little (using the contrast slider) to get a better distribution of tones Feb 19th
47 Feb 21 Comment I' think this picture has real potential. The most visual interesting element is the boat. The distant city and sky are supporting elements. I try this in portrait format. Crop out, the rail, and the warehouse. Try increasing contrast in the sky, but don't make the clouds too dramatic, distracting the viewer's attention to the boat. Feb 19th
