26 May 20 Comment Yes it is a flag. I used a magnifying lens and could make it out. I would take it out. WE have a summer home in Georgetown and I sail from Riggs cove to the mouth of Sheepscot Bay and the Cuckolds. Your photograph evokes the the mood of this part of Maine really well and makes me wish we could get there now May 12th
26 May 20 Comment The bird is beautifully rendered. The rock seemed too light, when I first looked at the picture on second viewing my feeling is that the problem may be tone balance. The black empty space is too much. Since, I don't know what was there, I can't say it should be lightened so there would be some detail that would soften the contrast between the background and the rock. Lightening the black might also take care of the problem of the lighter area by the bird's neck. May 11th
26 May 20 Comment beautifully done and very interesting. The star of David on the door must have an interesting story. I you tone down the area inside the blue arch, I think it would creat an illusion of three dimensionality May 10th
26 May 20 Comment Really nice. The grass is too saturated and bright for my taste. There is a distracting something in the sky by the porch May 10th
26 May 20 Comment Beautiful. I think the elephant might be lighted ta bit May 10th
26 May 20 Comment an't add anythig to Bob's and Jose's comments May 10th
26 May 20 Comment I don't think "record shots" means much. There are good photographs and bad photographs. Some bad photographs are worse than other bad photographs and some good photographs that are better than other good photographs. I think this is a very good photograph. I agree with Jose's analysis, but I would not light the sky on the top. On a clear day a blue sky is darker and more saturated the closer it is to overhead. So the sky as it is very natural and, being relatively darker tends to hold the viewer's eye in the central area, which is where the interest is. May 10th
26 May 20 Comment Thanks everyone. I agree that it is overdone and the halo is really bad. On my computer the shadows do not appear blocked. I will calibrate the display. The picture in raw is deadly flat. May 10th

47 May 20 Comment Thank you all for your comments. I do agree with Larry's and Don's suggestions about the foreground being to contrasty and dark. I did experiment with a more dramatic sky, but decided for a softer and less eye arresting sky. The mountains and land is what I think akes the photo work and the eye is intersting enough, but doesn't fight with the land for attention. May 25th
