Lovely photograph. I would crop on the left up to the second plant in order to emphasize the curved leading line that the rocky bank creates. I would like to see a little more contrast and color vibrance, particularly the geen of the woods. |

It looks to me that the bright area on the left of this wonderful image is a window. If so the separation of tones around the window would benefit by enhancement. There appears to be a grey area in the middle of the brightness on the left that somehow looks out of place to me. I think if you just brought the tone down on the left and on the first archway so that the window would be more obvious, that would also solve the brightness problem that others note. The etail of the texture on the foreground is a bit strong and fights the leading lines to the background which is the really interesting part. I would try darkening the foreground just a bit. |

Both are really very good I think the VB&W is better suited to the subject which is predominantly texture and form. It could benefit by a little more tonal separation of the leaves from the stones. You could achieve that by using a green enhancement and lightening. If your B&W software has a green filter just use that to get just a bit more (half stop) tonal separation |

Really, it is creative. To mepha size the figures you might blur the clouds a bit and bring the saturation down a little |

I agree with Dave's suggestion. It not only takes out the bland sky, but it emphasizes your message by concentrating on the head stones. I w ould increase the vibrance of the grass, but I think I would like this scene in B&W |

This is a real eye stopper. The colors are just great. The detail overwhelms me I tried darkening the center machine about 45% midtones and highlights and softenng about 3%.

I never thought of doing that, even though I know the Adams photo. I'll try that approach. |

Ed. Thanks for your having taken thae time to work on my photo. I think you cropped it just a bit too much. I think the shore line where the dark trees are is needed for a lead in line. |

This is a really well composed image. It is sharp where it needs to be and thee is no extraneous things in it. I think the contrast needs to boosted. I would think that if you had emphasized the mist, it might have also been a good photograph |

The composition si very nice with the diagonals and repition of the V shaped sections of the leaf. I agree with the comments about sharpness |

Good natural composition. Good tonal balance. Perhaps if it were just a little darker, it better or more dramatically would capture the feeling that you describe by the title. |

Photographing boats tied up from abeam is always difficult for me because the of the confusion of the various superstructures or masts. I would crop this right down to the near boat, without cutting off the pilings to the right, If you have any space at the bottom, I would try to get more of the refletions |

If there were mre of the gentlemen whose head is in the picture, it might be a more interesting paicture. I don't think the standing man is badly placed. He appears to be standing not walking and looking out. I would enhance the contrast--that is completely subjective. |

The horizon is not quite centered and is fine. The branches of the tree on the right, in my opinion, are distractions. The power of the image is the misty rendering of the Grand Canyon and the wonderful clouds. |
