25 Nov 18 Reply I have a Canon camera (70D) and use the Canon app. I think the app works with any Canon camera. I would hope there is an equivalent app for any of the major cameras. Nov 25th
25 Nov 18 Reply I didn't win. However, I had helped the woman with editing on her winning photo. So, all is good. I have been known to set up my camera in the cold and then go sit inside and operate my camera from the warmth of my home or car. I also set my camera up outside by a nest and then triggered it from inside the house to avoid disturbing the birds as they came and went from the nest. There is a distance limit for the camera to get the signal from the phone, but I've always been able to make it work. Nov 25th

Anytime I have my camera on the tripod and want to avoid touching the camera to avoid camera shake. It really is a nice feature. Nov 25th
25 Nov 18 Reply You are right about the dust spots. Interestingly, though, because of the way the streaking in the clouds printed, only one was noticeable (because I knew), but they all really blended in with the streaking clouds making it hard to know if it should be there or not. 25 Nov 18 Comment This is a simple solution to removing glare if you plan ahead. Take one picture with the glasses on and then immediately take one without the glasses off (Be sure to have someone else remove the glasses so the person being photographed does not move. Photographer can do it if the camera is on a tripod to keep everything in perspective.) Then in PS, place the no glass photo below the other and using a mask, combine the two photos. Nov 12th
25 Nov 18 Comment Nice job! I liked that you blurred out the background keeping the horse in focus. That is not easy to do. I wouldn't change anything. Nov 10th
25 Nov 18 Comment I liked this photo, but it seems a bit flat. I took it into PS and used Curves to add contrast and I also desaturated it a bit. You can decide if you like it. Nov 10th
25 Nov 18 Comment Very nice photo. I have seen how to fix glass reflections, so I decided to try it out. (I have a KelbyOne membership with training classes on everything, so I rewatched a couple of tutorials on this and did a quick fix.) Here is what I did in a matter of a minute or so. If it where my photo and I had the RAW, I would spend more time on it, but hopefully this gives you an idea. You may be able to find Youtube videos on this. Otherwise, it is a lovely photo that I am sure she will like. Nov 9th
25 Nov 18 Comment Wow, I can see that this was a fun picture to get! The slight blur of her face lets you see her and see the motion. My only suggestion might be to see if you can't lighten the other side of her face just a tiny bit. Otherwise, nice job. Nov 9th
25 Nov 18 Comment I think I like the 18WEB one better, but that is just personal preference. The out of focus wing doesn't bother me. I like all the colors and patterns. Nice job. Nov 9th
25 Nov 18 Comment Someone had an imagination when they created this tractor. I like the reflections on the hood. I would see if you could clone out whatever the white thing is on the headlight on the right side. It could be tricky though. Not being a farm girl, I am not sure I would have recognized this as a tractor without the title. However, as a group of photos showing this off, I do like it as it shows more of the face detail. 71 Nov 18 Reply I think for me the focus was just the array of colors. I like the idea of trying to frame a shot with more of a focal point, but I discovered on the trip that when I am moving up and down in the waves while the fish are swimming side to side, it becomes a "shoot lots of pictures and hope for the best" situation. lol I do have a lot of shots of individual fish and coral, but I liked this shot for the wider view of what I had seen. I have a new goal next time I snorkel: to capture more underwater landscapes because I realized when I got home I liked seeing the photos of where the fish and coral live. Nov 12th

71 Nov 18 Reply Thank you. I would love to try this again. Maybe next summer.... Nov 12th
71 Nov 18 Reply I like the more pano crop of your version. I could probably do that with one of my other photos. This was the only photo where I captured the waves so I like that part in this one. Now I want to get back in the ocean and try this again but living in Iowa means that won't happen again anytime soon. Nov 12th

71 Nov 18 Comment Nice job! I was drawn in with the color of the aspens and then noticed the sheep. I would not change anything. Nov 10th
71 Nov 18 Comment I like the path as a leading line and the colors of the photo. Desaturating was a good call. Unfortunately, I am not sure what is in focus (maybe it's just me). Since it is a landscape, you really want everything to be in focus, so a higher f-number would help. Nov 10th
71 Nov 18 Comment I agree with everyone else. Great shot! I wouldn't change anything. Nov 10th
71 Nov 18 Comment I get what you were trying to do and Mike might have a good idea. My problem is that the my eye keeps landing on the bright golden fields along the bottom of the photo which has me wondering what the subject is. Possibly darkening down the fields and lightening the trees to lead you up to the mountain might help. Nov 10th
71 Nov 18 Comment Really nice photo! I took it into PS Camera Raw and added a bit of clarity, contrast, and dehaze. I don't know if this is a place you can get back to or not, but if you do, something fun might be to use an ND filter to see if you can smooth out the water. But if not, this is still a photo you should hang on your wall. Nov 10th
