Thank you for the information. I will definitely try this pose when I get the chance to photograph a couple again. |

I had to Google who Moana was. I guess I'm showing my age. lol I am impressed with all you did to capture this image. I haven't gotten adventurous enough to learn to use an umbrella. I would just take another look at the eyes and maybe add some sharpening to them. Nice job. |

Nice photo. I would just add a vignette to keep eyes focused on the flower. |

It was an interesting idea to blend 2 images this way. I do agree that the stem might be nice. Without the stem, I thought a square crop worked better. I also added a vignette and removed a few bright twigs on the upper right side. You can decide if you like this. |

Hi Stephen. Thank you for your kind words. I am really new at trying portrait photography. We were in Chicago. The photo was taken near sunset in open shade, as you guessed. This was the only picture from that shoot that I changed to black and white, but I thought it suited this photo.
As for the photo you posted here, I really like it so I wanted to play with it, which did result in me making a few changes. I realize they are to my taste, so you will have to decide if you like them. First, I cropped in because I thought there was too much headroom. I thought a 1x1 crop worked well for this photo. I also opened the shadows because I wanted to see more of the left side, but I realize that there artistic reasons for not doing that, which may have been what you were going for. I also did a little lightening and sharpening of his eyes just to draw the eye there more. Either way, you have a nice photo. |

Hi Stephen. Since you have commented on a few of my photos over the last few months, I thought I would visit here and return the favor. I had some fun with this photo because I thought it had a lot of potential. I cropped it in. I darkened the foreground and lightened the tree branches. I took it into Luminar and used one of their BW presets to bring out the mountains a bit more. It's interesting, after I got done (and you can decide if you like what I did or not), I looked at Diane and Janice's comments. I would say I agree with them. Hope you like what I did. |

Ideally you would have a tripod to take the photos for a pano. However, I often don't have a tripod for just such an occasion. Luckily, PS will auto align the photos and then create the pano. It's been a while since I have done it, but give it a try.

Nice job. I love the colors and the low perspective. Certainly a picture you can enjoy. Just a suggestion for next time: Try getting down even lower so that more of the flowers are against the sky. |

I love Olympic National Park! I had hoped my husband would get a trip to Seattle this summer so I could go back. Maybe I can get there this fall. We'll see. I liked your composition. I just thought it could use a bit more warmth to simulate sunrise so I used Luminar to help. You can decide if you like it or not. |

It is interesting to see the scale in this image. One thing I have done when I didn't have the lens I wanted was to shoot a few shots and combine them in PS. Just an idea for next time. Nice job. |

I love the colors in the bird and the shallow depth of field. Can you take another look at your original? I am not sure the eye is 100% in focus. It's not off by much and maybe it just needs a bit of sharpening (or maybe it's just that this isn't a high enough resolution photo for me to be sure). |

I love the ski lift with the mountains in the background. I took it into PS because I wanted to bring out the contrast in the mountains a bit more. I probably over did it a bit, but here was what I was going for. Maybe you will want to play around with it a bit more. I also darkened the grass since my eye kept going to it. Overall a nice photo though. |

Hi Trina. I was wondering if you would mind posting what your photo looked like before you processed it. I am curious about the clouds because there seems to be too much black in them to be realistic and I am thinking it's because of all the processing, which worked great on the landscape, but not so much on the clouds. I do agree with Mike's crop to give a focal point and it eliminates a lot of what I don't like about the clouds. |
