I like the revised image. For me the subject is the head and eyes and the take off, the top of the wings don't matter. I think had you included all the wings the impact would have been reduced with the head and eyes being smaller. In portraiture it is OK to crop off the top of someone's head for impact, so why not clip the wings. |

I love the framing and the expression. I wasn't sure at first about darkening the background as I thought it helped to frame her, however, a few minutes in LR Classic and I now like the idea, it makes her eyes really pop. I used the adjustment brush and reduced exposure and highlights. |

This brought back so many memories of film processing. It was so cold in the darkroom we had to put the dev in a saucepan and heat it on a gas ring and, depending on how cloudy and grey the liquid was, adjust the dev time accordingly! I love the lighting and the composition and I wouldn't want to change anything. |

I love the textures and the muted tones. Linda's suggestion works for me as it removes any signs of modernity, making this a real timeless image. It could also be a good subject for a pencil drawing or watercolour painting. |

I love this just the way it is. The sharpness and detail in the feathers really work with the dark background. I like the way i can look around the image and see different stories emerging. The bird on the right is going hunting, the main subject is aloof, or done something that has the birds on the left turning away from it! |

I agree with the comments to remove the man on the left, otherwise i wouldn't change anything. This is a well exposed and really nicely timed image. |
