Many thanks for all the suggestions. I have been going back and forth with this image quite a few times and normally leave it for a rainy day - sadly rainy days don't happen often on Lima! I will now go back and take each suggestion and work them through. |

Mark's idea of cropping from the left and right works well. I would suggest leaving the arch as it is and cloning in some of the bricks to remove the blue sky, that would leave the elders as the main focus. I like the silhouette effect as it adds a little mystery to the image. |

I love the colours and the texture. The crop works, though I like the first image as I feel it gives the onion room to grow into the space. |

I like the image as it is. The view point works really well to put the flower in context. The nearest bud could be removed, though I'm not sure how that would affect the composition as I feel it serves a purpose of filling in the foreground. |

I think you have done an excellent job with this image. You have the stamens sharp and the main focus and the colours, especially the whites, are spot on. I agree with your thoughts on the composition as well, much better to be able to approach the flower and look into it. |

Your lighting and stacking really help to show the details the the petal. I like the colours on the image you submitted and I'm not to worried about the grey background as I think any other colour could compete with the rose. |

I love the lighting and really liked the original image. The white waves helped to frame the bird and give context. The modifications also work well. |
