I initially had similar thoughts to Linda, then I took some time to look at the full screen image again. I now like the softer look and the lighter water helps balance the darker cloud. |

I like what you have done with the crop. The branches act as lead lines to the bird, and the it's placing in the frame works for me. On my screen the colours in the feathers seems a little strong. |

You have caught a wonderful expression and the tones and lighting work really well. I wouldn't change a thing. |

For me, everything in this image works really well together. You have caught the mood of an alert and worldly wise lady. The background shows the shape of Badger and the colour adds to the feeling of thoughtfulness. The negative space bottom right gives the portrait room to breath. |

I agree with you Mark, books are much easier to use, especially if you need to reference more than one book. This image is a great spot and has a really good social documentary story. However, I keep being drawn to The Bargain Spot and the lighter windows. I used LRCC to crop the image and also used a little Clarity and Dehaze to darken down the bricks and boxes and to bring out a little more detail. The mono conversion works well here and you have done well to hold the camera steady considering the slow shutter speed.
