Excellent image, Henry! Great composition. I like the B&W with better definition of the sky and the brightness that you added to the pier to make it more enhanced. The water effect is beautiful.
Were there no people on the pier, or did the long exposure 'erase' them?

Thanks, Kapil. Me too, as it is more subtle (without the black spot).

Thanks, Jim. The brighter ropes did improve the presence of the lines.
As far as the black spot, as a 'nature' guy where I can't remove things, I never think about changing it as in some images which I could enter it both 'Nature' and 'PID', I don't do it as I would have to keep two sets of images for the same subject. That is obviously not a problem here! Suffice it to say that your suggestions improve the image. Thanks.

Excellent distortion corrections that led to a great B&W image.
I can imagine the amount of work necessary before we had the benefit of software-based image correction.
Good work!

Excellent capture, Kapil! You caught the exact moment of maximum travel very sharply! Good tonal range in the image.
If you added camera, lens, and EXIF data on your shooting situation, all members could benefit, like knowing if it was 1/250 sec or 1/1000 sec. that you used to stop the action.
Likewise, we try to add a little story about the image in the description of the scene in "About the Image" area.
I think Jim Hagan's suggestions improved your image greatly. They would be allowed in PSA 'PID' competitions, but they are not allowed in PSA 'Travel' and 'Photo Journalism' competitions if you were thinking of submitting the image in those competitions.

My initial viewing created a thought of "what is the subject"? I was relieved to see that others had the same impressions.
Likewise, I agree with Henry's crop, much improved!
I look forward to your next entry!

Peter, a very nice image. Good cropping with enough space around the Stork and more space for it to fly into and not perfectly centered. I like the denoising and sharpening that Jim Hagen performed. The high key effect works well with the subject.
Overall, an excellent capture.

Good image from a simple scene, Allen. From other's suggestions, I like the horizontal flip, but have mixed thoughts on the background. I would tend to go for the darker original for contrast with the subject and showing less detail. In my opinion, the lighter background creates problems with details, while only slightly benefiting from a lighter top border that balances the lighter foreground, sort of creating an island of subject. I think it is a matter of personal choice.
Overall, a good capture and solid B&W image.

Yes, and quite different from usual nature stuff.
