Great image, Henry. I like the rugged mountains comtrasted to the luminous sands and the micro textures of each. Wonderful use of monochrome to illustrate the values of light and darkness. The hikers and footprints add much interest and scale to the image.

Thanks, Albert. I also have a backlog of images waiting for improved skills or better tools to give them a new personality.

Thanks, Henry. I was wondering if I should have brought out the lakeside trees more. I like your version.

Great subject and creative capture corrections, Jim. My first reaction on viewing it was that it was 'too busy' with the sky and docks/boats/water/foreground all fighting for attention. The differentiation of sky and earth in Henry's suggested revision, spoke to me as a truer rendition. The over sharpening may have added to my original reaction. You also reminded me to take out my IR camera tomorrow and capture some of the mountains/fall leaves as we are visiting Colorado this week.

I think you accomplished your pattern and texture goals, Henry, but feel it is incomplete in the storytelling area. It seems more of a study than a complete image. I like your technique and results and look forward to you applying them in another image.

I enjoy the storytelling aspect that you captured as well as the technical lighting, texture and sharpness attributes of the image. I agree with the other's comments on improving the lighting and think it is an outstanding image. Well done, Albert.

I like the balanced curved vanishing point and shadows which adds depth to the image. A great composition of curves. The detailed textures and lighting are icing on the cake. Well done Peter.

I agree, Allen, definitely keep the leaf. The lighter veining in the leaf, contrasts nicely with the darker veining in the blossom, separated by the texture and detail of the petals. I think the lack of focus on the lower right is distracting and could be improved, but not a 'deal killer' as the other parts are so sharp. Focus stacking is definitely the answer, but not always possible.
I like the composition and tonality.
