Great architectural image, Henry. You captured high quality focus throughout the entire image (f/20) and maintained the perfect balance and alignment of the subject. The solid black sky sets of the glowing galvanized panels perfectly. A wonderful image.

Good image, Jim. I like your improved crop to remove more of the foreground to concentrate the viewer's eye on the 'action'. The dual leading lines of the train and the trucks provide a nice convergence point at the grain elevator, the main subject in the image. I also like the richer blacks and contrast you achieved in the final image that sets it off well.
Good image!

Great image, Peter. I think the two crops improve the integrity of the scene by removing the conflicting windows and bricks, and concentrating more on the railing detail resulting in a more compact composition. Of the two crops, I like Jim's as it keeps the entire railing within the frame and maintains repeating lines parallel with the frame.
Overall a great image!
(BTW: great new camera! Wish I had one. We will now expect improved submissions ;-) )

To me, this is an image of the rocks in the foreground and their importance to the photographer/storyteller. The bridge is a counterpoint for interest and comparison: Rough vs smooth; irregular vs. sculpted; dark vs. bright. I like the image and can appreciate you leading the viewer's eye into and through the image. I wish the sky could have been more interesting/dramatic, but in some ways that might have distracted from the foreground. Good B&W conversion with a full range of shading. Good image, Allen.
