11 Sep 19 Reply Thanks,Tom. I was trying to keep to a standard aspect ratio and balance the distance-to-subject on both the right and left edges while maximizing subjects. I will try backing-off a little next time.

11 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Jim. I see what the increased exposure does.

11 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Allen. I will have to re-look at the cropping. In nature, you would tend to want the subject as large as possible and still acknowledge the environment. In mono PID, it is more of the overall scene. I will try it will a wider crop.

11 Sep 19 Comment I like the mono version much better than the color. While all of your adjustments are good, might this be an image that could benefit from higher contrast or slight grunge treatment due to the dilapidated nature of the subject?

11 Sep 19 Reply Thanks, Tom. I will have to brush up on my technique (pun not intended, but it works!).

11 Sep 19 Comment Excellent action image, Sharon with all of the hooves in the air simultaneously. You nailed your location too as they almost appear to be modeling for you. I like the way you brightened the riders to bring them more to the viewer's foreground. While you may think the lighting was poor, it is not evident in the final product as you don't have to worry with reflections and high shadows.

11 Sep 19 Comment As usual, it is difficult to improve on your work, Tom! While the suggestions above could improve it, 99.99% of the viewers would not notice them unless pointed out.
I like the way you accentuate the details/textures in PS for Original 2 (and therefore the final). What technique did you use?

11 Sep 19 Comment Good job, Lisa. I like your mono version better than the original color image as it brings out more details in the mountains.
I investigated increasing clarity and dehaze to improve the details in the mountains and the clouds more, but this might may change your artistic intent.

11 Sep 19 Comment Very detailed image, Allen that emphasizes the feathers. While the exposure is excellent, I would have sharpened it slightly more to exaggerate them more. Also if this was not a Nature shot and the background details are so blurred beyond recognition, I would have dodged the shore line on the right hand side to balance the luminosity of the left side, and thus not distract from the heron's head.
