Thanks for trying to correct the non-vertical posts. They were canted out, but it is not obvious in this shot. My reference was getting the walking boards horizontal, which I think they are.
I can agree with the crop of the bottom and top, but NOT at the expense of cropping out the large stone on the right hand border. To me that was essential to have the contrast of the rough surface and the smooth bridge and adds texture to the overall image.
So if the top and bottom crops are essential, I would change the format to 16:9 which would result in an image as below. (which I really like and may use that crop in the future).
Thanks for your suggestions, Jim.

Thanks, Jyoti. HDR can be as simple or as complex as you want to get involved. I am somewhere in the middle, with the help of my software 'assistants'.

Great shot, Jyoti. With nature, you never know their schedule, so have to take what is given.
I liked Allen's suggested improvements and feel they emphasize the situation being observed.

To me, your monochrome version tends to make the details pop away from the background more than the color version. I particularly like the interaction of the streetlight shadow in the foreground with the subjects, and of course the beautiful clouds.

Your dedication in getting to the shot is only outdone by the quality of your final image. Excellent results in both cases. I enjoyed your sharp, action image, but wasn't aware of the determination and risk involved.
Your position seems ideal, were there many other photographers to deal with for location? How close were you to the 'action' and the 'finish' line?

Interesting and successful effort, Tom. It really demonstrates the power of monochrome to enhance the details of an image.

Excellent use of IR, Allen. Good composition with strong foreground and leading lines.
Seems everyone has an IR story. Mine is that I converted an old body for IR, but hardly ever take it out and use it since not allowed in Nature Division. I am now inspired to try again. Thanks.

Thanks, Sharron. I was worried about making it too 'soft'. Some alternate titles of this could be "Tranquil Serenity" or "Osaka Garden Bridge In Tones and Textures". Any favorites?
