Excellent image, Joyti. The problem is isolating the few from the many and achieving a good composition. It is especially challenging with all of the other madness around you. You captured it well! (I also like your narrative that made us feel part of the action.)
What settings did you use to stop the motion and still have good depth-of-field?

Good image, Tom. I like that you are always impressing us with your new talents.
I wonder if 5 images are enough, even at f/11, to have total focus throughout the whole depth of the image. I could be my eyes, but it appears that there is a band of soft focus, most notably on the top vein and into the valley of the main petal and continues into the secondary petal. A sixth exposure might have made the image tack sharp throughout. Please let me know if I am wrong, because it could also be the lighting (or my monitor).

Excellent image, Sharron! The sky definitely adds a dramatic appearance. I think it complements the more granular rock effect and blends the total image together.
I like that you removed the distracting hill on the right-hand side which isolates the 'Rock' and lets your new sky frame the entire 'Rock'.
(I hope that you recovered from the arduous trek, but it was worth it!)

A neat trick, Allen. I will have to try it in the future. I definitely like your final version better than the LR Auto B&W?
Out of curiosity, I wanted to see if in LR B&W, I could adjust the color sliders to get the same effect. No way, the auto is the best one there. I also tried multiple "1-click" presets (>80) in Tonality and nothing would make the sky dark and the water light. (Possibly by moving all the adjustment sliders it might be possible, but definitely not an easy adjustment.
So, you might be on to something, if that is the look that you are going for. |
