I like your improved image much more than the original B&W. When looking at the original, I was trying to figure out the material of the roof and walls, and it took my interest away from the overall image. I like the strong leading lines, the wide tonal range and the crisp details. While I think the white border aides in defining the image, I would tend to go with one thinner that doesn't compete with the white church. While both the color and B&W are excellent images, I am partial to the B&W.

The fog creates a definite depth dimension to the image which add to the allure of black & white prints. While I find the foreground clutter to be distracting, I can still "see the forest from the trees". The heaviness of the tree trunks make this possible. The scene could be improved without the small brush foreground and trees with heavier branches as you could see more of the main strong subject elements. Suggest trying again at another scene.

The crisp black and white color and the added HDR grunge effect created your desired mood. I like the strong horizontal lines interrupted by the diagonal lines of the auger conveyors. Darkening the upper portion of the image keeps the viewer's eye centered on the important elements. I feel that it is truly abandoned.

Good sharp image with excellent focus throughout. The reflections emphasize the shapes well and the different surface textures. Ideally, I would like a less bright background and have it consistent behind all of the objects. Overall, an enjoyable image.

Thanks, Allen. It is always encouraging to hear your positive comments. I also was surprised with the effectiveness of the cooler 'blue' tint.

Thanks, Eligio. I noticed the two eyelashes, but didn't think of removing them since I am a nature shooter, where we can't do that. I may follow your suggestion in a non-nature venue.

Amazing finished work in imagination and symmetry from the segment that you started. I think the blue cast adds to the mystery of what the viewer is looking at and trying to interpret its origin. Another masterful job.
