18 Nov 19 Comment Perfect! Fantastic! Nov 21st
18 Nov 19 Comment Perhaps you could add a couple small figures that are running away from the strange, threatening beast? Nov 2nd
18 Nov 19 Comment As always, good compositions offer opportunities to create outstanding creative images. Thanks for the idea to use another of the many Topaz filters. The soft pastels are wonderful. Nov 2nd
18 Nov 19 Comment Ian,
I think you made excellent use of AI Remix. It's easy to overdo it's effects but I think yours are just right. I have no quarrels with your border, but I suggest you explore the extensive borders within Studio 2. As always, its possibilities are endless but take time and experimentation to learn.

20 Nov 19 Reply As I review my phone travel images that were largely captured in a rush, I have learned that autofocus doesn't always produce the sharpest results. However, the Google tech guys say that the new Pixel 4 images are sharper if you're not steady! Then, its computational software takes control of sharpening. In any case, I think my image here is still surprisingly sharp for 1/14th sec. exposure, but I wish it were sharper.

FYI, most of my friends say they prefer the larger view too.

20 Nov 19 Comment I think the colors you added really enhanced it. Good detail and no reflections or apparent spotlights detracting from the artistry.
Was the original taken at night out doors?

20 Nov 19 Comment To me this looks like an appropriate and interesting use of a neon glow filter. It emphasizes the texture nicely. The border colors work well.
I would prefer to see the can slightly to the left with more shadow on the right.

20 Nov 19 Comment I think the soft painterly pastels created an attractive mood.
Do you recall the filter you used?

20 Nov 19 Comment Your low perspective made the addition of the water work very well. Excellent creative idea!

My suggestion is to add the flood as a layer and slightly overlap the shore line. Then, erase small bits of the water to reveal the uneven natural landscape. The straight water line doesn't work for me.

Tucson is just 2 1/2 hours south from my home, I must go exploring there again sometime soon. The desert SW has many varied photographic opportunities. You found a good one.

20 Nov 19 Comment Thanks. This is one of my few favorites from this trip, but I'm still working on them and reliving the memories. Nov 2nd
20 Nov 19 Reply I was pleased with the lighting but the Church must be given the credit. I captured what I was given.
Yes, the feet provide a more complete story, but I felt them unnecessary because I had never before seen an image of the crucifixion with such extensive other tortuous injuries. I tried to emphasize the bloody horror that I felt with the color and texture that I added to the background.
Sharp detail may have added feeling, but unfortunately the tiny Pixel 3 sensor may not have been up to the task even with its superb AI. Unfortunately, I have lost the original RAW image and worked with a jpg original, so I can't be sure of the original detail.
Thanks for your comments.

32 Nov 19 Reply I found my rusty chain among recent images from Italy that I just uploaded Nov 11th
32 Nov 19 Reply I compulsively keyword my images but only found one chain, but it wasn't rusty! So, I looked through a couple hundred "rust" images and came across this one - one link from a chain. Nov 5th
32 Nov 19 Comment I see an excellent graphic image. Ideal for monochrome. My suggestion is that if you want to emphasize gravity, a portrait format may help.
Your closely cropped composition Has given me food for thought for images I have of heavily rusty chains.

64 Nov 19 Reply I find that when I make the center vertical line straight, the sides become easier to straighten. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply When does your book of favorite images get printed? Congratulations. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply I thank everyone for the suggestions, and I prefer the resulting image. Whenever I see art glass to photograph, i'm always looking for its abstract shadows. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply I have many other images that focus on only one element. This is a different story for me, but I understand your confusion. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply See my slightly brighter and slightly stretched version below. Better? Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply See my slightly brightened and slightly stretched version below. Better? Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply I've brightened it a bit and stretched it too. OK? Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Comment There is a lot for me to like as I study your image.
I think it may be interesting to even present any one of the arches alone, except for the leftmost one. That one, I would crop for an image of five arches. Yes, I find the trees a bit distracting.

64 Nov 19 Comment I think this is a fine example of how a bird image should look, great detail with fine exposure and focus. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Comment I like it and think the cloudless sky helps emphasize the contrasting masts. A slight cropping of the left would contribute to the focus as would making the masts perfectly perpendicular, just a couple degrees counter-clockwise. Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Comment The others have said it all. Yes, the kayaker may be heading toward the dead tree. It's essential to the image. every element contributes to the whole! Wonderful! Nov 11th
64 Nov 19 Reply Yes, recently in Venice I only photographed using my Pixel 3 phone. The last night, I was in St. Mark's plaza and held my phone 6" off the ground to capture a reflected image of the Church in a puddle. Before long many other people were mimicking me rather than standing upright.

I'll try elongating(distorting) this image as you suggest. Computers can do anything and I think that will give greater emphasis to the shadow. Thanks.

64 Nov 19 Reply Thanks, I'll try that. Nov 10th
64 Nov 19 Comment I like your image very much. My wife, who is experienced with stained glass, informed me the workman is regrouting to strengthen the glass panels. That is needed periodically. Nov 2nd
