Thanks. While I think i've presented what you describe as a refreshing interpretation, Antelope Canyon images don't have a place in Arizona competitions. However, it has been suggested that I sell the original image as a greeting card. |

Perhaps it's sitting in a nest too.
I wonder if anyone sees it differently? |

Thanks. It is very easy to be awestruck by the beauty of the canyon, but maximum concentration is required because it is a very challenging location due to high contrast lighting and now also because of the crowded conditions. As I talk with friends, I learn that most will not revisit it. |

Overcast days are wonderful for eliminating harsh shadows that could have ruined this image. You tell a wonderful story and I think it could be enhanced be selective light dodging of all the interesting elements - the weavers face and hands, basket, bowl, the xhildren's Heads and the boys' hand/pocket.
Of course, the arm on the right needs to be burned and blurred.
I've recently helped develop the analysis of my images by converting them to monochrome. I find this forces me to identify all the key elements. |

This is very pleasing to me, but doesn't meet my definition of creative. I like square formats but I think I would have chosen to crop more closely to minimize the negative space. |

This is excellent! Of course, the colors grab me, but I bet the composition and detail would make a monochrome version excellent too. |

Very beautiful!
Perhaps I would prefer to see the corners with graduated darkening. |

This has an interesting vintage look to my eye. I'm surprised by the colors that came from what appears ro be a monochrome original. |

I think this is an excellent image, and I also need to be reminded to shoot action continuously rather than single frames. I made a tight crop of the man on the left and find that very expressive. |

I think this is a very good monochrome image, a simple documentation of the event you witnessed It would have been more interesting to me to see the faces and details of the soldiers clothes. |

I am very impressed with this picture - even more so after going on line to see the many compositions all of which are very inferior to yours. The reason I went on line was because I was curious about the sculpture at the peak. |

My purpose in capturing this image was to remember an unusual vista. I could always clone in something. Perhaps a dust devil would be interesting to me, but I won't because it's not important to me. I will adjust the unrealistic clouds though.
You made me recall my bucket list. I want to take a stark landscape and clone in a wide variety of subjects, perhaps a rusty old car or two, blooming cacti, desert animals, etc. - just for fun and the challenge of getting the lighting and color right for each subject.
Thanks for your comment |

I think this tells a good story with an excellent composition. I'd like to see the shadows on the face of the younger man opened a bit. |

Yes, very beautiful! I would just like to have a few scattered "stars" cloned out of the trees. |

I agree with the above comments, having thought of them before reading them. In addition I would crop a bit off the right . I think brightening the tree a bit may have the have the greatest impact. |

True, the original images were very flat, lacking any contrast and I spent an unusual amount to time adding contrast. So, You have seen it exactly how I worked to edit it.
The last thing I did was to reduce the contrast in the bottom 1/3 to draw more attention to the unusual layering of rocks. However, I look at it now and see over processed clouds and not enough contrast to please me with the layered rocks.
Thanks. |
