Is this an unedited image?
Burst mode in my Pixel camera takes 3 images when the subject or the camera moves. It selects the sharpest one, but allows you to save a different one. The artificial intelligence is so go that I've never seen a blurred image.
I really like your abstract.
I wonder how it would look flipped horizontally? |

I am not familiar with DAP and would like someone familiar with it and Topaz to tell me their preference and why. I have the Topaz Suite and have been using it for many years. I especially like Topaz because it's updates are free and the range of effects are seemingly endless.
I prefer the painterly effect on the dog and girl, but I am not enamored with the filter on the rest of the image. I think that your addition of the dog and girl was a brilliant idea and wish I would make time try to do that more frequently. Well done.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had never lost an original image? |

I think both images are excellent with a perfect composition. It looks like a restrained use to Topaz Glow to me.
Never the less, I prefer your original and just darken the it's background a bit.
I have found that excellent compositions such as yours lend themselves to many appealing variations. |

It's a wonderful idea but your story is not obvious to me without your narrative. Perhaps it requires both color and motion. It's too much of a challenge for me given my limitations. |

I generally prefer a more colorful image as is #2, but in this case I prefer your presented version. However, I suggest a small edit.
I assume the highlights at the top are blown out. I would pull a gradient down from the top to add a bit of yellow and perhaps also lessen the brightness a bit. Being very picky, I would also brighten the vases a tad. On the other hand, i'm Viewing your image on an iPad and that may be affecting my judgment. |

I am not a portrait or model photographer enthusiast. Too often I find the poses unnatural and contrived.
Photographically, I think the image is very well done, but I would prefer to see the face brighter than the left arm. |

I apologize for not commenting sooner.
I'm not distracted for the primary subject and enjoy the composition/ cropping as is.
Excellent! |

This is an excellent image. A winner as is!
I too would like to see a touch more detail in the hair though. |

Thanks for everyone's comments.
I awoke this morning thinking of our subject matter differently and would like to hear everyone comment on how this photograph of a sculpture should be viewed from the standpoint of judging the artistic merit of the photographer. Is this subject matter any different than architecture? The designer and builder are most deserving of the creative credit. In my opinion we can only enhance it. Is it a matter of how much effort is required on the part of the photographer? |

I assume the resident of the second floor is an artist with a sense of humor and a sculpture to draw the attention of passers by.
I think this is an excellent image and I have no suggestions on how it might be improved. |

I think this is an outstanding image and would serve as a good example to demonstrate how to analyze an image and identify positions to set control points, etc.
Perhaps, I can twist your arm to give a 15 minute presentation one Friday this Fall to Photography West?

We just have to try our best to know such things exist. A similar case was a winning straight image of a modern building that was severely distorted with no straight lines. The architect was certainly creative but it had no place it a creative competition.
Yes, it was remarkable how the sculpture incorporated water so efffectively and with excellent detail on the whale. It was a challenge to get an effective viewing angle and composition though to maintain the illusion of reality.
I believe the sculpture was bronze but burnished with effective coloration. The background water, I believe, is a shallow pool to collect the spray which was triggered about every five minutes. |
