Yes, as always, the trick is the selection of the original composition and changing colors to ones satisfaction. Small changes in the original composition make big differences in the results. |

I'm sorry I won't have access to my original until I return home in late-Aug. or Sept. My attempt to copy my original negatives along with my LR catalog failed. So, I left home without it.
The original flower is truly white. The flower is centered, with a perspective of looking down into the center. |

I compliment you on what I see as a playful, creative approach to this classic image. I do not mean to demean it, but my first thought was that a developer in Las Vegas might take this approach. They are obviously very successful. |

I like this a lot. My only suggestion is to slightly darken the bright yellows in the backgroundq. This might lead you to consider brightening the red flowers slightly to focus attention. |

I think your creative image is outstanding and I admire your painting skill. While I like the softness of the wing, I wonder if I might prefer it to be sharper with more detail. Perhaps i'm just too accustomed to seeing feather detail on birds. |

When retain access to my original image in Sept., I promise to carefully analyze how I processed it and likely reprocess it to reveal more detail. It's times like this that i'm especially thankful for having good equipment, ever improving software and an increasing knowledge of how to edit my images. This was probably the third time over a period of 35-40 years that I visited this site, so I also had a preconception of the composition I wanted. |

I'm traveling and don't have my catalog of original images . I think your sharp eye saw the result of my selecting an old jpg image, recropping and resaving again as a jpg for this DDG. It is possible that I was also careless with the original though too. |

Version 2 looks best to me, but I think the highlight are still too bright. Perhaps if I saw it on a proper monitor it would look best. Unfortunately, i'm Traveling and viewing this on an old iPad. |

Thanks for sharing this stunning image!
Perhaps St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC comes close to its elegance. |

I first made skies black because that's what I thought I saw in Ansley Adams prints. Do you know if that assumption is correct? Since making this image I have sometimes backed off the black a tad. |

I envy your ability to get in your preferred position for this composition. Very interesting! Perhaps the leaves could be enhanced some by opening up the shadows.
My preference is also to crop the top to just above the bottom layer of clouds. That would help my eye focus on your main subject. I think I would also appreciate the crater more if it had increased local contrast.

I agree with Don.
I have found DxO Photolab Elite to provide the best noise reduction treatment while also retaining detail. It also provides virtually all the editing tools commonly used. |

I think you could tell the same story by cropping this image significantly, about 30% off both the left and the top. My eye then focuses on the food and followed by the people and the train.
Very interesting. |

I think you have done an excellent job of controlling every part of the image. It's another excellent composition.
Having been there many years ago. I hope you present an interior image next month. I think it's one of the most beautiful interiors in the world. |

I like the composition, toning and border. I'm surprised you needed to use HDR to achieve your result and it may have produced the glow effect in the sky along the edges. |

A classic scene well done, but I agree about cloning out the antenna. |

Thanks. This is an old photo and I didn't pay attention to noise at the time.
While it may appear to be a winter scene, the picture was captured in late July. The water is not frozen but milky from glacial silt. |
