I like your image a lot even though your well dressed Grandpa looks out of place in that interesting location. The next time you use Topaz just save your work as a new preset to avoid note taking. It's rare that I can ever reuse my presets, but at least the information is saved as a reference. |

Thanks for the idea. Oftentimes, I evaluate my abstracts by turning them in every direction and also by reversing them. I didn't take the time to do it in this case.
My goal with abstracts is to present a composition that will look pleasing to someone in multiple ways. So, I guess I succeeded to a degree.
I like your idea but feel I would need to add additional space to the right to make the composition work for me. Perhaps the content aware tool will do the job after selecting the inner area, copying it to a new document and enlarging the right side of the document. |

I like it but the black towel doesn't show well on my screen. If you add some objects to the background it would add interest too. I think it will be worth your added effort. |

Using human eyes and teeth reinforces the idea of a mask, but if you make a variation with animal eyes and teeth, I think it will be scarier. Then, the lip will also be more to my liking too. |

I felt a need to make a more complex abstract to hopefully provide more interest and lingering thought. I'm glad you like it.
I will probably make variations with different colors Before settling on one for a 3'x 3' print, perhaps on aluminum. |

Thanks. I was familiar with light painting outdoors at night and never thought anyone would attempt or could accomplish what you have demonstrated. I should have read your description more carefully. It blows my mind. Wow!
Much too tedious for me to attempt. I guess that's one reason I purchased a Nikon D810 with a very wide dynamic range. I do spend a lot of time editing but never with so many layers. |

Very creative and spooky! My preference would be to carefully eliminate the cleft lip and split nose by cloning.
If you changed the aspect ratio to squeeze in the sides, I think it would also make a nice square format |

Very nice abstract and use of Topaz. I like the testure and colors. My first guess was that it was an aquarium image of coral. |

I like your image as is very much. By "light painting" do you mean localized brightening?
I donated my set of Encyclopedia Brittanica to an elementary school about 40 years ago. |

You have inspired me to follow your technique. I like what you did very much and have no suggestions. I might like a monochrome version too, but I think the lightly colored version you presented is excellent. |

As John said, you have created a tension that keeps my eye focused in one area. I too am bothered a bit though by the tilt most noticeable on the right, but I think the "sliver of space" creates a border. Unfortunately, that border is broken by the sliver of white marble. All easily fixable and, in my opinion, worth the effort to fix.
Personally, i'd make another version toning down the foreground and drawing my eye to the town and hills in the distance. Multiple planes of interest always work for me, given an excellent composition. |

I think you have a very, very interesting image, but I would prefer to see all the lines straightened. I find it easiest to do by straightening the center vertical first.
Perhaps opening the ceiling shadows a bit would lead to linger more on that detail too.
Nice and thought provoking for me. |

I think you captured the moment perfectly. I immediately said to myself, "That man is relaxed", before I read the title.
I would like to see the wall on the right toned down and probably his foot too. Slightly brightening his face may add impact too.
Excellent composition and photo overall to my eye. |

Excellent image. I didn't notice the splash at first. Perhaps the water behind it could be darkened a bit to emphasize it. |

ViewPoint will recognize your camera-lens combination and make the most expert correction for lens flaws. Better than ACR. It's lens sharpness is not applied equally across the image. Since the lens is designed to be sharpest in the center it recognizes that and applies increasing sharpness as the distance from the center increases! So, lens sharpness is applied pixel by pixel. Unsharpen is available too but rarely needed with a pro lens.
The Photolab software was introduced Dec. 2017 and has The NIK ViewPoint technology too, though that is in the process of being refined. |

I like the composition, but find the brightness of the foreground a bit. Distracting. I think I would prefer less contrast and more detail in both the highlights and shadows. You did well with the conditions you faced.
Given the high ISO I suggest that you download a free trial of DxO Photolab and ViewPoint. I have learned to rely on it for noise reduction Automatic lens corrections and lighting since purchasing iast Dec. I think you will be surprised by its results. |

Thanks.
We are in extreme drought conditions. Just 0.75" of rain in 2018, about 3.25" below normal. I look forward to smelling and feeling rain soon in northern UT. This will be the 13th year we participate in the USU senior summer citizens program in Logan. I look forward to photographing Antelope Canyon and Goblin Valley on along our route north. I hoped to see more but my wife doesn't understand why we should frequently return to all the NAtional Parks. |

I see an excellent tonal range, sharpness and detail. While I think this is an excellent image as is, my preference would be to see the flowers moved slightly to the left. |
