It's funny how different people perceive images.
For me the colors are all over the place and distracting to the roller coaster.
Those bright orange barricades really demand my attention and take it away from the subject. |

Love that the Shadow of a tree mimics the tree atop the mountain.
I do however find the shadow on the bright mountain a bit distracting and if this were mine I might consider removing that. |

While this is very nicely done, for me BW is all about contrast. Rick Sammon says Contrast is King. I hope you don't mind but I added a bit on your image. What I did:
In Lightroom I added contrast (see sliders). I did not get enough so I added more definition using the gradient tool but this time I brought the contrast down for some reason that added more of the detail I was looking for. Finally I put it in NIK Silver Effex 2.0 and used the Fine Art Process Filter. |

While this image is interesting and I love the mood, I find that Im disappointed after following the leading line, I was hoping to find a person coming at me in the distance.

This is a wonderful image and I love that amazing cloudy sky.
I also like that you have to hunt a bit with your eyes to find that bench, and I find myself looking closer to see if it might be occupied.

Lance thanks for the compliments on the photo! This was taken mid covid. Lots of empty streets although the boardwalk was somewhat populated with walkers and bikes. The color version had too much going on with the orange cones, the red and blue ticket booth and other non complementary colors, so that'w why I decided to convert to BW.

1/250 - f13 - ISO 100
Shot in color converted to BW in Nik Silver Effects 2 - High Structure Filter
In LR after I raised the contrast a bit more

These are very cool. For this subject I probably would not have thought to make them BW but they work very well
