Hello Lane. I really like your image. You made a good "atmospheric" choice. I think fog is a great time to take photos. You photo is a perfect B&W. All the tones are there. The photo is soft and peaceful. "The day is done". I think the dock is trying to steal this photo. I suggest dodging the dock. |

Well! You are showing us a bird that isn't at his or her best. This is what I look like when I get up in the morning. This is good story telling and is showing a different view based on the behavior. It is almost Wabi Sabi. I like what you did with the background. The eye is perfect as is the crop. Very sharp and wonderful light. |

You certainly have given this thought. The rotar blages are certainly a factor. When using a long lens I try to use a monopod. It keeps the camera steady and you can still "react" to your subject. I think you did everything right here. I like the tighter crop suggested by Harley. I think Bunny will hereafter be the official Group 43 research person. |

You are becoming a master urban photographer. There is a lot going on here and it is all good! The fog seems to be a buffer seperating the urban environment from the sky. There are multiple leading lines! A very sharp and exciting image. You used a very wide angle lens and got some distortion on the edges. This can be fixed in Photoshop. I used "transform" and "warp".I read that Hong Kong is the most expensive city to live in. My hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the most affortable. |

Thye crop is excellent. The background isn't a distraction and complements the gull. The gull is white so the the overexposed areas on the tail, head and wing feathers is hard to avoid. I would try to burn in some detail there if at all possible. I like the detail in the wings. The eye and beak are very sharp. That it has something in the beak is special here. Overall the image is ellegant. |

Hello Bruce. I tried to comment on your photo a couple of days ago but for some reason I was unable to. This photo has IMPACT! There is absolutely no doubt as to the subject! It is as if you had a mirroe under one of the planes. The higher ISO paid off with a very sharp image. I have a suggestion. I think these jets need some room on the left. The exhaust doesn't really add anything and in fact seems to be slowing the planes down. |

Thank you Harley. I good correction. These owls are constantly checking their surroundings. They could be a meal for a Harris Hawk. |
