The color change reminds me of sepia or even copper type toning. The sun and those lovely rays are now warm! The tree anchors the whole image. I am friends with a number of photographers on Facebook and one of them is working with technique in the darkroom. |

Maybe it isn't too good of a story. This doll was given to my wife when she was a child by her aunt. Her aunt was a career nurse in the Army. She bought this doll in Japan. The photo is just light and shadow, And some light painting. An experiment. |

I hate to think math has anything to do with my photography. |

Now this immediately caught my eye! My eye then follows the paths and always stops at the lone figure. I am so surprised you got such detail at F 2.8. I guiess it depends where you focus. I like the water on the right and the pond almost dead center. My eye goes to the reflections in the pond. That lone figure adds a story telling element to the photo (which is already a fine landscape). |

What a great "moment in time". Great composition and exposure. The motion of the leg and ther fish demonstrates a sort of balance. Depth of field is perfect for this shot. Defines the bird. All light and no shadows. Outstanding "nature" image. |

You are right! I did take it out already. Initially I thought it was a leading line. Actually it is a distraction. |

Shadows and Light! My eye goes immediately to the net. It sure picks up the sunlight. There are delightful light reflections under the net and you can even see the water coming off the net! Composition is good for the fisherman. Glad you gave him some room on the left. There are extra shadows there. |

Hello Stephen. This is an interesting idea and later today I will work with only the shadow. I did a good bit of dodging and burning on the doll. Especially the face. There is good detail in the shadow. I will see what I can come up with. During my "studio" phase I tried to incorporate shadows by light placement and light painting. I got a really good result with two civil war lead bullets and one entire cartridge I think was for a civil war pistol. Long shadows! I put it in the AZ Camera Clubs Fall competition. Didn't do well. Also did a low key photo of a Cream Can and two milk bottles. Still had a shadow of one bottle on the cream can. |

Sometimes only a vertical will do! If you look at photo contests the vertical photos are always the strongest! The sky and the snow complement each other. The trees anchor the photo and the reflection makes this a very powerful image. Good job! |
