There was a point to this. I was on a photo workshop in Death Valley. Instructor put us in a narrow canyon mid day. Challange
was to find things to photograph. Everything was in shadow. I learned a good bit that day. I learned to "LOOK". We had to pick one of our photos from that assignment and write a haik poem to describe the photo. |

This is a close up photo. The idea was to photograph things your eye doesn't usually catch. This is just a rock formation that had some interesting yextures, colors and "veins". I was in a canyon mid day so there was no light. All I had was the flashlight. Cameras don't have a flash anymore! Who decided that? |

A good canidate for B&W. All the tones are not here and they really need to be. Need black blacks and white whites. Too much grey. This can be fixed! Try some dodging and burning! |

You nailed it! I like the sand and I think it adds to the photo since this is a lighthouse. Good use of foreground. Might get rid of the the whitle low fence/wall lower left. If shutter speed was 1/500th, what is the advantage of using tripod? |

I studied the original for a bit. It is a very good capture. The expression is priceless. A little "snarky". I like the crop. I think this image is "overcooked". I think it needs to be "softer" and not so detailed. That is just me. I am going throught a less is more phase. |

An odd number is usually the best! Three works for me! I like the color and exposure. I agree with getting rid of the dark area back left. There is a really large area right front that isn't helping this image. Either darked or warp it out. |

Very nice composition and light. I widh IO was there. It seems so peaceful. The light brings out the roots on the left and the table too. The star burst is a plus! Nice reflections. That table is just asking me to come sit a spell. |
