21 Jun 25 Reply I like the original too with the camera man. A great crop would be the bird and the man together. It would look as if they were both oblivious of each other! Jun 19th

21 Jun 25 Reply But I did get another shot - nothing to do with birds but one of my favourites! Jun 17th
21 Jun 25 Reply I think that's because the background is blurred! Jun 17th
21 Jun 25 Comment A very unusual treatment of this cormorant which works well.
In UK we only get the black variety. I have recently been trying a bit of experimentation with Topaz Super Focus, which sometimes works well. It does, however, occasionally try to over-sharpen parts of the image. The effect on the wood is similar to this, and I wonder if it may have been over-sharpened slightly?

21 Jun 25 Comment I love the action of the bird peeping round the rushes. Nicely caught, and a different placement of the subject to the norm! One of the things I love about this group is the posting of birds that we never see in UK and this is an example! Jun 16th
21 Jun 25 Comment Great image of the Waterthrush. A bird that I have never seen before, but your shot tells me all I need to know. I did think perhaps it needed some cropping out on the LHS, but decided that this would do nothing to improve it! Jun 16th
21 Jun 25 Comment A simple but effective image, in an unusual setting. It reminds me of a song from my youth by The Incredible String Band - 'Ducks On A Pond', similarly simple and effective! Jun 16th
21 Jun 25 Comment Super image as presented. I think that the branch could be cropped so that the bird is bigger in the frame. It looks sharp enough to do this, and if necessary something like Topaz Upscale can be used up to 4 times size increase, without affecting the quality. Jun 16th
21 Jun 25 Comment This makes for a dramatic and very unusual effect on the egret, which is super! It probably couldn't be used in a Natural History exhibition, but as a creative image it works
beautifully!
