I had my share of exhibition success pre-PS, when I had discovered a method of combining slide images without one bleeding into the other. I was able to achieve images which can now be made easily in PS. For me PS was a big learning curve. I managed to get my MPSA but the possibility of getting further was remote, especially since I was no longer getting many exhibition acceptances. I now concentrate on Photocrowd and RPS, which have a different emphasis on images which is much more to my liking! |

That confetti must have taken some time unless you were able to use the 'similar' adjuster! |

I don't mind the contrast. If you mean to go OTT, then why not go for it in a big way! I was going to make the same suggestion about decentralising the dancer. I would suggest making her slightly smaller in the image which I feel would work to concentrate ones eye on her. A really good image which would probably do well on the exhibition circuit, however I agree with your concerns about any part of the image not made by the photographer. I no longer enter exhibitions, but when I did, I would never even use a stock frame from an outside filter company. There are filters these days that allow you to substitute a stock sky, and these are definitely a no-no! |

I always understood that part of the pleasure of the PID Dialog was the ability for members to learn from the concepts and techniques of other members, and the way in which they had produced the final image, rather than just commenting on the image provided each month. Without any explanation of how the result was produced, or examples of what the image looked like before it was worked on, I am afraid I am unable to do this! Sorry! |

Your use of the filter creates a striking effect. My eye floats around the image with nothing to actually home in on. There is a small red area, right centre. I think that if this could be strengthened somehow, it would solve the problem. |

The final image of the flowers and vase is super. I, too, see no need for the rather odd reindeer. Perhaps reduce the opacity of the outline around the flowers, stems, and vase very slightly, since once noticed it feels slightly too strong for me. I love the feel of the whole image though. Great job! |

I had the same question concerning the confetti as Jerry. Over all I love the concept, and I think that the image works well. I would, as suggested, decrease the girls size a tad. With regard to floating, I don't think a shadow is needed, (look at the bottom of the bride's dress.) A tiny bit of cloning of the grass, upwards on the bottom of her dress should do the trick. A work in progress, but one worthy of a little further attention! |
