Very clever composition. Presumably the smoke wasn't created by someone smoking a cigar? I would certainly like to try this technique. |

Bright and colourful. Your interpretation suits the subject. I would correct the slight lean to the right. |

Happy New Year Ian. I think the original with it's saturation is great, but in my opinion your adjustment does not improve the sky area. The trees themselves are definitely better for your treatment. I feel that if the sky saturation is left alone, and the trees are given the clarity of your final image by some selective adjustment, perfection would be obtained. |

Very clever and amusing composition, and I certainly can't see the join. The animal you have created is going to be very confused whether to chase birds or attempt to fly! I think this should do well in exhibitions, since in my opinion there isn't enough humour in photography these days. |

Hi Kirstin, and welcome to the group. You have given us a great image for starters. Whoever said that you can't turn an average photo into a successful photo was wrong, and your example shows how a basic image can, with some thought, be improved significantly. I especially like the stylised leaf on the left, and it might be possible to include some similar additions to other parts of the black surround. |
