I'm not sure that I've heard of Nic Stover but we've had a couple of talks recently on luminosity masks at our camera club which have been very helpful. I just need to find the time to practice! |

Thanks for the suggestion Lauren. Unfortunately on this occasion I didn't have a tripod with me, or the filters that would be required for a long exposure as it was a very bright day. However I shall bear your suggestion in mind for the occasions when I am suitably equipped. |

This is a lovely statue but I feel it is too small in the image and the background is a little distracting. You could crop the background out all together so as to focus on the figure with just the tree trunk behind it. I like the leaves in the foreground so I would leave these in. |

Terry's suggestions have improved this image. I too find these bridges very interesting. I like this image very much and my only suggestion would be to crop the sky from the top to where the bridge meets the edge of the image, I think this just adds to the drama of the bridge. You could maybe use a luminosity mask to darken the water a little without affecting other areas. I've only just started using these myself so I am not sure how successful this would be. Worth experimenting though. A lovely image. |

The use of the neutral filter/landscape mixer has turned this in to a very dramatic image. I rather like the effect particularly the reds. I also like the way the tree trunks frame the brighter area in the sky. This inspires me to experiment more and I must have a go at using this filter. |

I love this very atmospheric shot, especially all the detail in the foam. On my screen there seems to a slight halo around the edge of the mountains in the distance but I am viewing this on my laptop so it could just be my screen. I might lighten the beach a little to bring out more of the texture, but again it might just be my screen. A lovely image. |

I visited this beautiful stretch of coast back in 2015. I think you have chosen an excellent view point. I suspect that the mist Debbie refers to is sea spray. I agree that more detail is needed in the two large sea stacks on the left, maybe dehaze would work. I notice that there is a seagull flying in to the image from the right which I like but it would have more impact if it was slightly higher as it is a little lost in the waves. |
