Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
35 Apr 21 Comment When I first looked at this I thought it was a composite and that the broken egg shell had been added in but then I read your notes. This sounds as if it is a very interesting place to visit. I do like the tones you have used in this as it gives the image an even greater surreal feel. At first sight it seemed to me as if the tree had hatched from the egg. I wonder if adding a tone (maybe sepia) and some texture to the egg might add to the image, just a thought. Apr 15th
35 Apr 21 Comment For me too the lockdown has provided an opportunity for experimentation but mainly with my colour work rather than IR. Your work on this image has turned it from what might have been a fairly ordinary scene to one that is more interesting and your use of "find edges" has resulted in a very crisp image. It is a shame that it is almost impossible nowadays to take a street scene without cars but I imagine there were far fewer than normal on this occasion. The blue doesn't bother me but I don't think you need quite so much sky so I'd be inclined to turn this in to a letter box. Apr 15th
35 Apr 21 Comment This is a really striking image. The interesting fence draws the eye to the wonderful tree which is the main focus of the image. The clouds are also amazing and deserve an image of their own. However I do feel that the sky competes a little with the tree and that a plain sky might work better. Apr 15th
35 Apr 21 Comment You have such amazing rock formations in the USA, enhanced in this case by a dramatic sky. For me there is just a little too much going on in this image so I would either crop some of the foreground or some of the sky to make the rocks more prominent. The addition of a little more contrast by selective dodging and burning, as Helen suggests, would also bring out the potential in the image. Apr 15th
35 Apr 21 Comment Another lovely image from you Sharon. I love the subtle colours you have achieved in this. They certainly enhance the building. I think Stuart's idea of isolating small areas has merit but I like the image just as it is too. Apr 15th
