I suspected that it would be impossible to avoid the branches. It is so frustrating when you can't get the perfect angle, it happens to me frequently. Sometimes my husband is able to get a better angle simply because he is taller. How annoying is that! Anyway congratulations on your success with this image, it is lovely and it is only my opinion that it would have been better without the branches, others obviously disagree.

The different elements in this image are all very interesting. The sky is beautiful and the two boats provide a strong focus. Unfortunately I find the twigs and branches spoil it. I doubt whether there is anything you could do about this as cloning them out looks as if it would be very difficult and it doesn't seem that you could have taken this from a different angle although perhaps taking it from a lower angle might have helped. It's such a shame because without these intrusive elements it would have been a strong image. |

This is a charming scene but I think I prefer the original without the blurred background. I can see why you have lightened ad blurred the image but the children for me are more defined and hence stand out better in the original. |

I like the blue and orange tones in this image so your experimentation for me has been successful. However I wonder if the composition would have been stronger if you had only included part of the reflection. There also seems to be quite a bit of noise in the sky and I wonder whether this is the result of using CLIR. |

The texture in this image is what stands out for me. The boulders provide a strong lead in line to the door which, with the treatment you have applied to it, looks suitably old. It is always difficult to predict how exhibition judges will respond to an individual image but the simplicity of this one should make it stand out and I would think it could do well. For me it is a lovely image with a good tonal range, on my screen it looks as if you have added a slight sepia tone which compliments the subject matter. |

You have certainly achieved an imaginative and very different image along with some lovely colours. I would be interested to see the image before you applied the rain looking filter just so as to separate the two stages. Having said that I very much like the finished effect. The only part of the image that doesn't work so well for me is the blurred patches of colour over the trees in the distance, I assume this is the rain effect. |
