You have certainly suffered some awful hurricanes recently and it is good to see that not all areas have been totally devastated. The lovely trees are the main focal point of this image and to place greater emphasis on them I think you could crop out the grass and water at the bottom of the image. More contrast between the trunks and foliage would also help. Unfortunately the sky is rather bland and I wondered whether there is more detail in it that could be brought out at the processing stage. I see you use Silver Effex and I find that experimenting with this can sometimes help extract more contrast. Alternatively a graduated filter may help. |

Another lovely image from you. I particularly like the dog. It and the figure and the seat contrast well with the foliage behind. I also like the low angle that you have taken the image from as this emphasises the figure. The toning you have chosen works well. The only suggestion I can make is to crop a little off the right side so there is less seat to lead the eye out of the frame. |

I think fence posts and barbed wire make great images although maybe not everyone would agree. There are some lovely clouds in the sky but the mid-ground is rather busy so I wonder if you had taken this from a lower angle whether you could have placed the fence posts against the sky. I feel that this would have simplified the image and made it stronger as a result. The textures in the posts are very good and add interest to the image. |

The hay bales and lines in the field make a strong pattern. I think the image could be improved by eliminating the sky altogether and taking out the bale to the far left in the distance. Alternatively you could crop the left hand side so as to make the main focus of the image the three bales leading to the rather lovely cloud in the sky. A touch more contrast might also add to the image. This image has great potential and I think it is worth experimenting further. |

The tree, sky and rocks are all wonderful elements but I feel that they are all competing with one another for attention. Would it have been possible to take the tree from a lower angle so that it stood out against the sky rather than merging in to the rocks? Or alternatively could you have taken it from a slightly different location so that it was positioned to the right of the higher rocks? As usual this is a lovely crisp image with a full range of tones and I really think it has great potential and is worth trying again perhaps when there are fewer clouds in the sky. |
