Thanks for this Debbie. I tend to use Nik more than Topaz but I will take your advice to experiment with Topaz. I am having problems with Topaz at the moment for some unknown reason, although it has worked perfectly in the past. |

Thank you April. I will bear your comments in mind when I photograph this scene again. It was difficult to darken down the areas you suggest without it looking false but hopefully when I photograph the scene again in winter the light won't be quite so bright and, of course, there will be less foliage. |

Thank you. Yes I think the image could be improved by cloning out the chairs and table. Hopefully if I revisit in winter as I intend then they will have been put away. |

I like the effect you have achieved on the foliage and would like to know how you did this. The trees are very beautiful and the house, in my opinion, provides a perfect focal point. I too would crop out the figure on the right but overall a lovely image. |

I find the background a little fussy. Darkening it down as Stuart suggests might improve the image but I'm not sure that this would make it any less distracting. Maybe a tighter crop would help. The children are lovely, but I too am not sure that infrared works in this particular instance. |

I like the fluffy cloud in the gap between the trees as the image stands. However I agree with Stuart that the image needs another element to provide a focal point, a person walking up, or down, the steps would be ideal. If you were to add this in I think the image would be stronger if you then cropped out the sky as Sharon suggests. I do like the details in the tress and foliage. |

I visited Monument Valley many years ago and on that occasion the sky was overcast and the light was very flat so not great for photography. This is an iconic scene and I agree with the suggestions made by Helen, Stuart and Sharon. I hope that you are able to upload the amended version when you return home as I would be interested to see it. |

I too like the way you have framed the domed building with the columns. I would perhaps crop the image a little at the top, but only very slightly to the top of the right hand column, just to remove some of the clutter in the top left hand corner, or maybe you could clone some of this out? You appear to have toned down the grass in front of the building which works well, I wonder if you could also do this to the top of the dome which appears to be very bright? |

Another striking image from you Sharon. I like the simplified version but I also like your original and can't make up my mind which I prefer. I think Stuart's suggestion of toning down the white house is a good one. The only other suggestion I can make is to clone out the sign to the left of the house and also what looks like a handrail. These are only very minor points though. |
