Thanks for your comments Stuart. As you can see from my reply to Debbie I've had another go at processing this image which hopefully brings out more of the detail as in version 3 while retaining the colour which I rather like. |

Thanks for your comments Helen. I tried cropping out the building but I wasn't entirely happy with it. As you can see from my reply to Debbie I've had another go at processing this and I'm a little more satisfied with this version. |

Welcome to the group Debbie and thanks for your comments and suggestions. I've had another go at this image, taking in to account your comments, Helen's and Stuart's and I attach another version. I processed this one in Nik colour effex pro using both detail extract and tonal contrast to bring out more of the detail. I have left it as a "colour" version for the time being but may eventually turn it to mono. I have tried using curves too, as you suggest, but I need more practise I think! |

This is a really strong image, the sky is lovely and the tree in the foreground provides a strong focal point. These trees seem to be more like cacti than a tree. I just wonder whether you could have achieved more separation between the tree in the foreground and the ones behind it if you had stepped slightly to the right. Maybe this wasn't possible? |

This is a beautiful image Helen. The blue tones make it feel very cold and adds to the impression that snow is lying on the ground. I think the combination of the foliage, the lovely clouds and the interesting building make a strong image. My only suggestion would be to clone out the overhanging branches on the left side as I do find them a little intrusive. A lot of work I know! |

I do find this image a little busy for my taste and I agree with Stuart's suggestion regarding cropping some off the top of the image. Alternatively you could try cropping some off the left hand side as this would leave more of the lovely sky in. I notice you have cropped quite a bit of the foreground out and I wondered whether leaving a little more in would balance the scene as the original gives the impression of being less busy. |

Welcome to the group April. This is a really original idea and I have enjoyed looking at it. I agree with Stuart that it would have been better to have foliage all the way around the table, this would have simplified the image and strengthened it, maybe you could clone some in? |

This is a lovely composition. It's strength is in its simplicity and the tulips make a very interesting foreground. I also like the charcoal drawing effect treatment you have given it. I have experimented with cropping some of the top off this image to place more emphasis on the tulips but I am not sure whether it improves it or not, it is purely a matter of personal taste. |
