Thank you Helen. I saw some stunning images of this garden in colour in the local guide book and thought it would work well in IR. I am very pleased with my new camera. |

This kind of topiary is very popular in Europe but I've not seen such a concentration of it in a small area anywhere else which makes it very unusual. |

I think they must have an army of gardeners and yes, very happy memories. |

I think the trees in the distance on the right hand side are interesting and give the image depth so I wouldn't crop these out although I can see that cropping a little off the right hand side might strengthen the image. An alternative suggestion is to crop the left hand side leaving just one barn in the image. This would place greater emphasis on that barn. Either way it is a lovely image. I agree that lightening the foliage would help. |

I think there are two images in this scene and both could stand alone.
If you cropped the image just to the left of the trees on the right the buildings would make a lovely image on their own and the fence would provide a strong lead in line. Similarly the clump of trees would stand alone. As the image is presented I just find that there is too much in it. Maybe cloning out the trees on the horizon on the right hand side would help. |

I think your framing of the spire with the tree is perfect but the temple does appear to be leaning backwards. I think you could afford to lose the Buddha as it is very bright and a little distracting. I would also have preferred to see the full Buddha or none of it at all. Despite these minor criticisms it iis a lovely image and the IR brings out the texture of building well. |

Another lovely image Helen. The white foliage in the background contrasts well with the headstones. I like the composition, particularly the tree which provides a strong diagonal element but I too think that the image would be improved by cropping the left side. |

I have read the exchange of comments with great interest. I too love these old American barns and find this one particularly interesting because of the different doors. I think a close up of just the doors would make an interesting abstract image. Indeed I wonder if you did take one of just these elements. |

A very bold and colourful image. Have you added some colour to the sand in the foreground as well as to the beach huts? I think the simplicity creates a very pleasing image. I can see that you cropped each side to eliminate the buildings etc. in the background which might have distracted from the main subject. |
