Thank you for your helpful suggestions Helen. I hadn't even noticed the distracting elements behind the trees. |

This is a scene found in many country estate gardens in the U.K. And here it has been beautifully captured, it appears, at a time when the foliage is at its best and the flowers are in full bloom. I wonder whether a portrait format, which could easily be achieved by cropping both sides, would focus attention on the central arch which to me is the most attractive part of the image. |

This is certainly a striking image and the colour is lovely but I do wonder whether including the whole statue would have improved it. Did you leave the lower part of the statue out because it added nothing to the overall picture or even distracted from the main subject? Could you have taken the whole statue from a low view point? |

The blue of the pool is lovely, and it looks to me as if this is reflected in the roof of the bandstand, maybe it is my imagination. My camera too sometimes records blue and also yellow but I have no idea why. It is a shame that you could not isolate the bandstand against the sky as I think this would have strengthened the image but I can see that this would have been impossible. As it is you have done an excellent job of simplifying the background. |

I too think that turning this in to a letterbox by cropping some off the lower part of the image would strengthen it as I feel that the trees in the foreground make it too fussy. Having said this I think you need to leave the top of the rows of vines in to act as a lead in to the trees. I also like the dark tone of the sky as it provides a strong contrast with the trees. |

This is a lovely image. The trees make a perfect subject for IR. I like the pale blue sky and just a hint of colour in the tree trunks. By leaving out the sky you have placed the emphasis on the trees. A lovely composition. |
