I really enjoy the way you use textures to enhance your images, I have used textures with colour images but have not tried them with IR, I must have a go. I like the boldness of this image and the colours. The centre is beautifully sharp showing off the detail of the flower. Lovely. |

Despite having been to Lowther several times I've never noticed this structure. I like the overall composition and personally feel that you need the sky in to complete the story. I cannot think of any way to improve this lovely image. |

I too like the IR treatment which flatters the model and gives her lovely smooth looking skin. I also feel her right arm looks a little awkward and detracts from her face so I would have limited this to a head and shoulders shot. |

Yes I like the blurred background better but I agree with Henry about the foreground. |

An interesting building and I like the contrast between it and the cloudy sky behind. For me there is a little too much foreground without interest in it. I wonder whether cropping the image to a landscape format would place more emphasis on the building. Alternatively could you introduce more contrast in to the foreground to bring out the detail in what looks like stone steps? |

I have found it is always difficult to achieve a three dimensional look to buildings that are photographed face on and it looks as if there are trees either side which would have partly obscured the building if you had chosen a different angle. Perhaps going in close with a wide angle on one of the pumps to use as your foreground with the garage in the background may have worked? It is such an interesting building I really feel it is worth having another go. |

This is an unusual and striking image. I like the composition and colour and to me the treatment you have given it gives a painterly quality to the image. I think it is very original. I could imagine this hanging on my wall at home, probably in the kitchen as it's theme would fit there. Keep up the experimentation. |

Fascinating discussion. Sharon I'll have a look at your article in the PSA journal to learn more. |

Thank you for your suggestions, I'll give them a try. There was actually a stag in the distance so maybe a deer would be more in keeping than sheep. I have some photos of deer so maybe I'll have a go at putting one in. |
