Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
20 May 23 Reply Not really, but perhaps just leave the ship with the original white sales... May 15th
20 May 23 Comment Very well done.... This really tells a very strong story of the area....I never knew this statue existed when I was there many years ago...or, I would have taken a photo of it too... May 14th
20 May 23 Comment Well done. As with several other comments regarding black backgrounds... I might suggest to add a grey or neutral border around the image to keep it inside.... not everyone likes the borders, but I do, and that's my opinion.... May 14th
20 May 23 Comment I like what you have done, with one exception.. I feel the bright blue skylight to be a distraction and competes with the pink umbrella...Maybe it could be darkened more so that it blends into the background ... May 14th
20 May 23 Comment Reading all of the comments helped to define the image. However, I find the colors to be "off" for me, as the color of the ship might not be the best choice. May 14th
20 May 23 Comment Very well done. Love the final effect, as it really brings the subject (the man) as the central interest. I don't have capability of doing something like this, but appreciate the final result...All of my photography now is done with a very good point and shoot camera, and what alterations I feel need to be made are done in photoshop Elements...but, that is as far as I can go... May 14th
20 May 23 Reply Thanks.... I never even saw the jug, and, I agree, it needs to be removed.. May 4th

23 May 23 Comment By removing the distracting twigs, etc, this image can not be entered in any Nature competition, but would do very well in Color or Pictorial as it tells a strong story. May 14th
23 May 23 Comment Very nice... getting sharpness in macro or closeup photography isn't easy, but you mastered it in this one.... Congratulations on getting a 1st place in competition. May 14th
23 May 23 Comment Interesting image. I love the replaced sky, and have done so myself many times...but, one has to be careful not to enter them in a division that prohibits any alteration, such as Travel, Nature and PJ... In Pictorial or Color divisions anything and everything is allowed... May 14th
23 May 23 Comment Greata capture of the pelican and the fish... added to the story is the second fish ready to consume. Sharp as a tack!! May 14th
23 May 23 Comment Yes,this image definitely needs to be cropped off on the left side to get rid of the out of focus white stuff, crop to just to the right of the brown "string"...I would also clone in the white spot on the lower right with the green leaf. Nice color. May 14th

61 May 23 Reply Actually I think the "imperfect" poppy tells a story too, and it breaks the line of perfect blossoms.... May 15th
61 May 23 Comment I love macro images and this is a "winner"... I don't have the capability of all of the "focus stacking stuff" and never learned how to do it... All of my photography is now done on a very good point and shoot camera. Then, if needs be, I will adjust, remove, crop, darken, etc. in photoshop.... At my age (90) it's all I can do to snap the shutter on a subject, let alone do all of the fancy adjustments... hee, hee.. May 14th
61 May 23 Comment As with most black backgrounds it blends into obscurity without a border... Not one that overpowers the flower, but one that defines it. I love borders on all of my images, but, I know that not everyone likes them.... Good color and love the water drops... May 14th
61 May 23 Comment Great photo.... However, I would have liked to have seen a stem as the blossom seems to be "floating in space". Not to say that this is bad or anything, just another version...
May 14th
61 May 23 Comment Love the composition and the purple reflections in the water... good job.... May 14th
61 May 23 Comment I really like the cropped version, however, I would have flipped it horizontally to have the brown leaves in the upper right corner, as that is the way we "read:"... May 14th
61 May 23 Comment I agree with Ingrid... I found the out-of-focus on the forward petals to be a distraction too. But, the overall effect is great... May 14th
61 May 23 Reply For another one of my poppies go to group 23, where I also show a mass of them. May 2nd
