What a stoke of luck to have had the lightening at that precise moment...However, I find the figures to be a bit confusing, and were it not for your explanation i would never have seen them. I find the 3 arches to be very interesting and the center of interest for me, and not the figures. |

Very well done...It certainly tells the story of how to make a "cup of coffee".... |

I really like the result of your manipulation...taking an ordinary scene and transforming it in to something completely different...good job!!! |

Interesting scene, but I'm not sure I like so many colors, even if there are these colors, only subdued, in the hills. For an abstract view it works more, but certainly not nature.. |

Not yet, but they have evacuated the village and all employees from the valley..Visibility was about 1,000 feet in the valley as of a couple of days ago...

I just learned that the small falls were totally destroyed several years ago when the Merced River flooded over the road.. So, the falls may not have been restored as of yet...since I haven't been up to Yosemite now for about 5 years or so.... |

Good composition and lighting on the rose...my only suggestion would be to darken the background just a bit more with the darkening tool, which would really make the pink stand out.. |

I love to take these kinds of photos, but I think this one is a bit too cluttered...It's hard to see any details with the image as small as it is... Laundry being dried from windows is something that we don't see here in the US. For that reason these scenes are very photographic for us. Not being able to see the original colored version it's hard to see the comparison... |

The black and white version is more dramatic, in this case, than the colored one...Yes, this could well be a scene of the many horrible wild fires here in California right now....the huge black smoke clouds really enhance the mood of the scene, while the barn and other building appear to be very safe...I will have to wait several more weeks until the fires are all out before driving up into the foothills to see the damage the fires did to so many ranch building....I have a favorite barn on one of the roads, that may be gone, or not.. |

Not sure just what you are trying to say...perhaps a side view would increase interest in the scene....but, sometimes one has to shoot for the moment, and doesn't have time to arrange the scene for a better composition. |

I'm torn between seeing the heavy brush strokes, and using one of the other painterly effects which would be a bit lighter. I commend you on trying something different, but, I feel this effect is a bit too heavy. If you can find the original, try this.....just be sure both images are the same size first. Then move the original onto your screen, open the creative one and move it up onto the original...then with the erase tool erase only the flower, stem and leaves....last step is to merge the 2 images together with the "flatten image" step under layers.... |

Yes, but it is more difficult to include the upper pool in the scene....actually it is very easy to see once you know where it is....have taken dozens of photos of the falls, which are all on slides, but I haven't been up to shoot it since switching to digital about 8 years ago....As you make the loop in the valley, and turn left to cross the Merced River bridge it is on the right side of the road, about a hundred feet or so along the road way...there is a small turnout for only one or two vehicles to park and shoot the falls. |
