I like your shot, it could use about +40 in contrast, then I also used a grad filter on the highway to lighten and add a little more texture to the road. Then I used a grad filter on the clouds to darken it about 1 stop darken.
I like how the road picks up some of the shadows from the clouds and from the poles on the left side of the road. Plus a great leading line with the stripe going down the road. |

Good idea with finding the seed pod, I do the same thing, I hate following a group. Lorna is right, it is slightly over sharpened. You might try less clarity or mid-tone sharpening, but keep the texture sharp. Make sure to watch all of the edges, those halos are a killer to an image, although these are not that noticeable until you spot them. |

Great catch, just add more contrast to the color and I would stay with that one, it would fit the Halloween theme more than the monochrome. |

Here is my two-car crop. Both images had some noise reduction as well, I used Giga pixel to enlarge and reduce the noise of the images. |

Good capture and timing. The car somewhat blends into the background, you could try a different colored filter, I went with a purple custom filter and the background got darker and the car stands out a little more. Chuck's crop is good for just showing the one car, I also like both cars but crop out the distracting background. See my second image of both cars. |

Great portrait, such eye detail, and even isolated from the background. |

I would agree the Monochrome version works better. The lighting and detail are fine. I understand what you are trying to say from your explanation, and if it works for an assignment that is great. Otherwise, the image does not do anything for me. I would darken the brake pedal since my eye goes to that first since it is the lightest part of the image. I would also vignette the image to highlight the Hammer. |
