Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
1 Jan 18 Reply Could be a good picture, Sam; but, not the one I had in mind: Tractor perched and chained on trailer in a field is what attracted me. Jan 25th
1 Jan 18 Reply Though I was very attached to the tractor emerging out of the center, I agree that image is far more dynamic when it's off to the side and introduced by leading lines of the road. Thank you, David, for the comment and illustration. Jan 13th
1 Jan 18 Comment I enjoy the clash of orange below and blue above. It's as though the latter were erupting from the former. Also I appreciate that you gave minimal space to the mountains below: just enough so the viewer feels grounded, but not enough to compete with the stupendously gorgeous sky. Jan 9th
1 Jan 18 Comment To me, it's not Mt. Baker that seems "mystical" but the foreground ridge, for which the big mountain seems a good background. Either way, I'm glad you got the moment.

I got curious about how this might look in black and white: a different image.

1 Jan 18 Comment I'd like to see a little more of the mom's face. Be that as it may, I enjoy the moment you've represented. Some members of my camera club energetically object to placing subjects in the center of compositions. They'd love your photograph ! Jan 9th
1 Jan 18 Comment A powerfully dramatic moment, perfectly frozen in time. Pretend it's a painting, and the image becomes as sharp as it needs to be. I think I see some noise (perhaps due to the very high ISO). If you remove it, the photograph will become even more of a painting. These are quibbles, though, compared to the powerful effect of perfect situating of the gulls in relation to each other and the whole composition. Jan 9th
1 Jan 18 Comment Gorgeous color and light; appropriately dramatic depth of field. The dead branches near the foreground are slightly distracting, but probably too much trouble to remove. More easily fixed is the lens distortion: note how right side peak bends inward and the river on the right seems to run uphill. The auto or manual lens correction features in Photoshop will fix this. 1 Jan 18 Comment Definitely fits the "yellow" requirement. The slightly out of focus mid-ground combined with blown out highlights there distract my eyes. Maybe make the whole subject soft focus? Jan 9th
