I very much like Dennis' idea of neutral gray. Also I'd slightly open the tree-darks so as to reveal some detail there. To me, the composition works: from the big tree on the left, my eye easily travels the slope down, then up to the next ridge or peak on the right, and finally to the bleak sun (very nicely exposed !) lingering in the sky. |

I agree with already expressed concerns about the not quite vertical verticals and the somewhat too extensive foreground. But the misty mood and the familiarity of this classic composition dominate the imperfections. |
