Hi Harley,
You want the ears up.
For quarter horses, a breed, you might want to photograph it at an angle showing the rear.
Not necessary though. Like any animal eyes in focus
Don't cut off limbs and it the case of horses, ears up.
Of course, if you a taking a picture of a race, their ears will be back. |

The texture pulls this image together. It would make a great book cover for a scary novel. It certainly has impact and elicits an emotion. Good job! |

As I look at this image, I am uncertain what your subject is. The winding road? The building in the back ground? Going back, I read what you were attempting to do, show the old and the new. I think from another angle it might have worked but I am seeing two different images. |

I love snow images and I love the original. It looks real and the cardinal hanging in there. Good image. Really tells a story. Nice job. |

Having been a horse person, meaning riding and showing horses was my life for many years, I am coming from a different perspective. This is a portrait of a horse a it's foal. So, I am looking at from that perspective not a pastoral scene. The grey horse in the middle is fine. ( White horses are called grey, too long an explanation and this is not a lesson in horses) Anyway, the bay foal looks like a Mule because of it's long ears and it's coat is terrible. (Again, as a horse person, we don't like images of our horses with their ears back. Kind'a like a portrait of your child with his tongue sticking out.) And then there is something strange with the fence coming right up their rear. The horse in the back needs to be cloned out.
If you have an image of the three horse in a meadow, that I would consider a pastoral scene. |

I like tonality and glow which you captured on the right. A couple of steps to the left and you would have not gotten the petals which bring nothing to the party.I just saw what LInda suggested and that is right on. |
