I don't think it was strange, I just thought the composition made him the subject and thus more of a portrait. I don't like images of art unless, as you have done, added an element which makes a reason to photograph the art.
Having said that,I love the embedded photographer! |

The person in this image makes the image. The tones and structure are lovely. This is a nice travel image. |

Again, I see two different images in this one also. I like the left side with the white trees which are so delicate in contrast to the gnarly heavy cypress. You could do two different crops and I would back off on the sharpening, I find it a bit crunchy. |

I see two different images in this image. I like the low position that you took and would eliminate a big portion of the sky. By doing that you get the horizon line off the middle. I would do a tighter crop and eliminate the boat on the left. I like The position of the oars on the boat on the right. This is a good travel photo. |

Very interesting and I hadn't heard about the Eastland disaster either. I admire your creative skills with photoshop however, I find the photographer draws my attention away from the wall which I believe is your subject. The gold tone is in my opinion is a bit strong. I prefer the grey tone in your original.
The image with the photographer in the street taking pictures of all the wall art tells the story of a photographer making images. (Original 1) Your composite is more a portrait of a photographer. |
