Thanks Toni,
to be it is all about lines, texture and simplicity. Yes, a something would add another dimension. However, this was truly in a remote, remote area which no-one had visited in a long time.
I did print it in color and it is a whole different image and story. |

The first thing that caught my eye was the out of focus stamen and pistils. for me that is a distraction and as I go thru the image the bright spot is where my eye lands. |

Lilies are so beautiful. You certainly got the middle, sharp and realistic. The petals are a bit too wet , making them translucent . They don't look quite like that in the original. The crop and the black background are nice. |

I can smell the tobacco leaves and hay. Love the tones and textures. in my opinion the bright window on the right is a distraction. My eye keeps going to it. The green of the leaves outside the window on the left is a bit too vibrant . Overall, I find it a bit crunchy and would like to see the colors mellowed a bit. I am sure it isn't that pristine or vibrant. |

My son and his family have gone back to Vietnam a couple of times and they love it. ( They are living in Tokyo) I enjoy the first image, not so tightly cropped and perhaps would darken the upper part just a tad. The v that is formed by the river brings you right into the image and you float along. Very nice. |

The shapes and textures on the trees are amazing. My eye goes to the men on the bench and then gets lost in the brightness. Linda's post helps. ( I would love to shoot through that whole in the tree!) |
