Absolutely wonderful. I am soooo envious that this flower was actually part of your garden.
Your processing choices added depth and dimension to this painting. I love the subtle swirl texture on the background and the brush strokes on the flower itself are excellent.
As Trey sometimes says: "Mic drop". I wouldn't change a thing. |

Your paint strokes on the interior regions of this cat are wonderful. The whiskers and eyes are great.
However, I think the "edges" don't blend into the background appropriately. Thus, the cat appears as a "cut out" which was placed ONTO the background.
This can be easily rectified. Just take your mixer brush and gently and lightly extend the fur (I actually use a fur mixer brush) along the edges of the cat INTO the background.
Look at your original picture to see what I mean. For instance, the cat's lower body has small traces of fur that extends slightly from its body. You can even extend the right hand whiskers a bit if you wish.
I hope this helps. You are doing a great job with your painting skills. |

Welcome back! If truth be told, I haven't been doing much painting lately either. I also feel that some of my skills have eroded. Hopefully, for both of us, they will come back quickly.
I love this painting; especially creating it now as a "one story" structure. It was a great call to eliminate the entire foreground to concentrate only on the second story of this building. It doesn't look like your skills have lessened; your paint strokes are great and give this scene a painterly mood.
I guess the only thing that I might change is the errant bare branch coming down from the top most tree. Excellent painting and good eye seeing this composition as a potential painting. |
